Before we get started, we’d like to thank you for coming back to read the second blog post from San Cierra apartments in Northwest Houston! In this week’s blog post, we’ll be talking about some decor tips that you can use to style and beautify your space. Whether you just moved in or you’ve been at San Cierra for months, reimagining your space might be exactly what you need to fall in love with your apartment. Our community has luxurious around every corner, but it’s up to you personalize the place.

In the blog post below, we’ll be sharing some tried and true methods of organizing and decorating your place. Apartment decor is all about using pieces that maximize your space, and we’ll tell you how to do just that.

Without further delay, let’s get right to the list! When you’re done reading through it, please feel free to share the link to this page with your friends and neighbors at your community of Northwest Houston apartments.

Tip 1. Make use of metallics and mirrors

One of the best ways to make your apartment seem more spacious is to make sure light reaches every corner of the room. Dark corners make your space seem smaller, so we encourage residents to do everything they can to light up the room. If you don’t want to buy a bunch of lamps and set them up throughout the room, we’ve got a better option; reflective surfaces. Whether you invest in metallic pieces or mirrors, all that matters is that you have objects in your home that can reflect light to corners and crevices that would otherwise remain dark.

Tip 2. Keep your large furniture away from entrances

Here’s a subtle thing you can do to make your apartment seem open and spacious; keep your couch and entertainment center far away from the entrance to the living room. When you walk into your living room,  you should see nothing but open space directly in front of you. If you put a huge piece near the entrance like a couch or an entertainment center., it’ll block your line of vision and prevent you from seeing your space as open and inviting.

Tip 3. Learn to love layers

When we say layers, we’re talking about throw pillows, blankets and rugs. The more of them you buy, the more depth your apartment will have. The key to creating a cozy, comfortable space is creating visual depth within that space. By layering pillows and blankets on your couch, bed and chairs, you create a more textured appearance. Without those layers, your space will look visually flat.
